VERSILIA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS: WHAT TO SEE

4 stelle

The region of Versilia

Art - Park - Sea - Mountain

Versilia covers an area of about 160 square kilometres on the north-western Tuscan coastline with 20 km of fine sand from Viareggio to Marina di Massa with well-equipped bathing establishments capable of satisfying every need; you can breathe in the air of holidays and relaxation overlooked by the splendid view of the Apuan Alps. Halfway along is Marina di Pietrasanta, an exclusive and renowned place to stay with the utmost comfort and elegance.

Next door is the resort of Forte Dei Marmi with its shops, café bars and high-quality restaurants that still fully meet the needs of an exclusive and select clientele.

The Versiliana Park, behind the hotel, is the ideal place for a walk in the shade of the pine trees or for jogging for the more sporty. In the afternoons during the summer period - for lovers of political and cultural debate - the famous 'Incontri' at the Versiliana Café provide interesting artistic and cultural insights in a magical atmosphere, in the shade of those pine trees so beloved by Gabriele d'Annunzio.

Walking among art and nature

Points of interest in Tuscany

In addition, Versilia offers countless opportunities for physical activity and pleasant leisure time: from the possibility of playing tennis and golf to attending sailing, windsurfing and horse-riding courses, everything is nearby. For lovers of trekking, mountain biking, horse riding and the mountains in general, the Apuan Alps and Garfagnana are just a few kilometres from the hotel.

Within a short distance you can visit places of culture and fame such as Torre del Lago Puccini with the residence of Giacomo Puccini where he lived and composed many of his operas, or Pietrasanta named the "Little Athens" with its museum of sketches where plaster casts and photographs bear witness to the genesis of the works of art that famous sculptors have created here.

The town of Carrara at the foot of the Apuan Alps is of medieval origin with its mountainous terrain characterised by marble quarries, so much so that Michelangelo himself came here to choose marble for his world-famous works. Viareggio, the town of fishermen and the famous papier-mâché carnival, has an efficient marina.
